Jurisdictional restrictions

Last updated: 2026-04-30

wausernames is incorporated in the United Kingdom and operates under FCA guidance for low-value digital-asset intermediaries. Some jurisdictions classify the resale of digital handles as unlicensed virtual-asset trading. In those jurisdictions, we restrict listing until we obtain the appropriate local registration. Buyers from any country may purchase from eligible sellers.

Restricted jurisdictions (sellers cannot list)

Verification

Country of residence is verified at FULL KYC tier (via Stripe Identity + bank account country) and again at ENHANCED. Sellers attempting to list while resident in a restricted jurisdiction will see the listing form blocked at the country-of-residence check, with a clear message pointing to this page.

Sanctions and embargo

Independent of the above, wausernames will not knowingly facilitate trades with parties subject to UK, EU, US, UN, or OFAC sanctions. Sanctions screening runs at the ENHANCED tier as part of standard KYC; manual review applies on partial or fuzzy matches.

Future expansion

We add jurisdictions to the eligible-list as licences are obtained or local regulatory clarity emerges. The current eligible list covers all EU/EEA jurisdictions except France and Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States (excluding states that classify marketplaces as money transmitters and require per-state registration), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore (under MAS's consumer-grade exemption), and most low-and-middle-income jurisdictions where digital-asset intermediation is not separately licensed.

Buyer side

Buyers may participate from any country. Local consumer-protection law applies on top of these terms in the buyer's jurisdiction. Card processing is subject to Stripe's acceptance criteria, which can independently exclude some countries.
